Katrina Kaif Basks in Sunny Spain

The stunning Katrina Kaif has no doubt broken a few hearts in Marbella, Spain, where she just spent a long awaited vacation with her family.

Katrina was accompanied by her only brother Michael and the other Kaif sisters who all share the same amazing genes.

“It was quite a sight to see six similar-looking women accompanied by one 30-year-old handsome guy (my brother Michael) into restaurants in Spain. We formed a secret society that excluded everyone around. We were just happy being one family.”

The Kaif girls scared away any potential Spanish suitors though as they were always with a guy (Michael) and as Katrina pointed out, “They couldn’t make out what the man’s connection with these women was.”

We bet Salman wasn’t so upset about that!

The vacation comes after the actress flew to London to spend her 25th birthday with her family, a reunion, which was well overdue as their earlier get-togethers always had someone or another missing.

Now back in London, Kat wants to get back to Mumbai and back to Salman Khan too, especially as their relationship appears to be moving into a new phase with Katrina admitting her feelings for him publicly for the first time only last month.

However, sadly love will just have to wait as Katrina heads first to Chicago where she will take part in the Independence Day celebrations.

Miranda Kerr Looks Scorching Hot in New Swimwear Range

the Victoria’s Secret Angels, sizzled as she posed

in the new swimwear range.

Kerr, 26, was pictured posing in a variety of

swimwear at Sydney’s Bondi Beach,

The model, currently dating Brit actor Orlando

Bloom, sizzled as she posed in a psychedelic bikini, reports the Sun.

Meanwhile, Kerr is said to have looked great

during a photoshoot in the Caribbean, where she

Salman Khan & Shah Rukh Khan Friend?

Mumbai: It seems like Karan-Arjun are back together! The cold war between the Khan biggies – Salman and Shah Rukh, is thawing and warm vibes seem to be in the air. After Salman Khan’s repeated signals of peace in his show ‘Dus Ka Dum’, Shah Rukh has relented and is in a mood to forgive and forget. That’s why, in a recent event, SRK referred to Salman as ‘My friend Salman Khan’.
Addressing the start of a quiz at a Delhi campus, King Khan was talking about his stint with stardom and revealed that he equated poverty to failure at one point of his life, and he never wanted to be poor.

SRK said that turning point in his career came when he readily accepted films that others rejected. For example, he explained that he did ‘Deewana’, a film that Armaan Kohli rejected, did ‘Baazigar’ that ‘his friend Salman’ had refused, acted in ‘Darr’ that Aamir Khan turned down and did ‘Dil Aashna Hai’ after Saif Ali Khan rejected it.

The audience was surprised to hear him he say ‘my friend Salman’ as after the infamous fight at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party, the two have not been on talking terms. Since then, Bollywood was segregated into two camps but now all seems to be well.

SRK truly baffled everyone with this remark at DARE ’09 event, jointly organized by IIPM, the largest B-School on the planet along with `4Ps Business and Marketing`, one of the most widely read Business and Marketing magazines in the country.

Manuela Horn

Manuela Horn performed again tonight on America’s Got Talent and she stunk the whole place up.

However did you see how much taller she is than Nick Carter? He is afraid to stand too close to her in

fear of being crushed by one of her giant stiletto shoes. She does get into fashion though did you see

that 1950’s June Clever dress? Wild, the rest of the acts were pretty good Thia Megia was very good

and the Acrodunk put on another great show. That lady Grandma Lee is so funny and you know she

works up some great material. I can’t wait to

RakshaBandhan Bollywood ishtyle

n the Hindi film industry, the number of sisters landing up at a star’s place during Raksha Bandhan has always varied according to his box office ranking.

Dharmendra, the heartthrob of the 1970s, incongruously collected as many sisters as giddy female fans on his way to stardom. When the good-looking man from Haryana arrived in Mumbai, his only relatives were hope and grit.

Women used the rakhi to get closer to him. Today, the 73-year-old actor has graduated to a ‘paji’ (elder brother) to three quarters of the industry. Shashi Kapoor, the endearing flirt of the 1970s, also wore the most rakhis on his wrist on Raksha Bandhan.

Karisma and Kareena don’t tie their cousin Ranbir a rakhi, but they share a warm camaraderie with him. Chunky Panday jokes, “I used to hide on Raksha Bandhan day because I didn’t want attractive heroines to tie me a rakhi.”

For Priyanka Chopra, her brother Siddharth is the apple of her eye. “I constantly look for his approval on most matters,” says didi Priyanka. “He is not only my kid brother, he is also a close friend.”

Sisters like Mallika Sherawat and Manisha Koirala have gone out of their way to extend unconditional support to their brothers Vikram and Siddharth. While Vikram manages Mallika’s career and is a producer, Manisha has supported her brother’s decision to be an actor.

Clearly, in this industry, the brother-sister bond and its traditional ties are reversible. Punam Sinha, wife of actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha, who has been tying Subhash Ghai a rakhi for many years now, should know. Ever since Ghai stopped working with Sinha, the duo share a terse relationship. “Sinha often takes witty potshots at his saala (wife’s brother) Ghai,” says an industry insider.

However, Ghai says, “I’m extremely fond of the Sinhas and despite all our ‘differences’, we share a warm relationship. Unfortunately, I don’t have a photograph of Punam tying me a rakhi in my albums. We have maintained the sanctity of the relationship and I didn’t think the media would one day ask me about it.”

Singing sisters Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle have the highest number and the most popular of film personalities on their list of rakhi brothers. India’s Nightingale tied a rakhi to the late Sunil Dutt and Tamil superstar Sivaji Ganesan. Lata, who is currently in London, usually ties a rakhi to Yash Chopra and also thinks of Dilip Kumar as her brother.

Then there are others who use the rakhi as a tool to further their careers. The rakhi bond is also used to lay to rest rumours. Heroines have assuaged the fears of their co-stars’ wives with the line — ‘He’s like my brother’.

The old Indian habit of adding a prefix of relationship to a familiar name does not necessarily stop at a brother. The general impression is that Govinda’s wife Sunita ties David Dhawan a rakhi. But she says, “He is like a father-figure to me.”

According to Sunita, she respects him as much as her dad. A trade insider confirms that Dhawan feels so strongly for Sunita and the kids that he has taken it upon himself to resurrect Govinda’s career.

Diane Schuler

Death driver Diane Schuler was drunk and high on marijuana when her wrong-way crash killed eight people on the Taconic State Parkway, sources told the Daily News on Tuesday.

Schuler’s blood alcohol level was .19 – about two-and-a-half times the legal limit, investigators confirmed Tuesday.

State Police first learned the toxicology results last Friday, but decided not to reveal the information until the victims were buried.

Police have given the findings to Schuler’s family and relatives of the three other victims of the July 26 crash, which killed 36-year-old Schuler, her 4-year-old daughter, and her three nieces, ages 9, 7 and 5. Her 5-year-old son survived.

Also killed were the three Yonkers men inside the SUV Schuler hit – Guy Bastardi, 49, his father Michael Bastardi,
81 and family friend Daniel Longo, 74.
“We’re beside ourselves,” said Robert Guzzo. His wife, Roseann Bastardi, is the sister and daughter of the victims.

“Nothing’s going to bring them back,” he said. I can’t say it helps to know what happened.”

“In the beginning I was as puzzled as everyone else, but now it makes sense,” Guzzo said. “I’m very angry… but it’s a tragedy on both sides. I feel for those kids.”

Westchester’s chief medical examiner, Dr. Millard Hyland, told the Journal News the case has been ruled a homicide and referred to the district attorney.

Investigators revealed Monday that Schuler had been driving erratically for nearly 60 miles before the fiery crash and stopped at a Liberty, N.Y., McDonald’s on the drive home from a camping trip in Sullivan County.

Her husband, Daniel Schuler, told police they left the campground around 9:30 a.m. and his wife was fine.

Around 1 p.m., Schuler called her brother – whose daughters were in the car – and said she was sick and needed help driving.

The brother, Warren Hance, called State Police in Tarrytown to say Schuler needed help. Troopers searched for the red minivan she was driving, but didn’t find her in time.

Around 1:30 p.m., Schuler entered the north-bound Taconic via an exit ramp in Briarcliff Manor, Westchester County.
She drove for 1.7 miles before plowing into the Bastardis’ Chevy SUV.

“I don’t even want to think about if the brother knew what she was doing and let those kids get in the car,” Guzzo said.

The Bastardis and Longo were on their way to Guzzo’s house for dinner. They were going to discuss an upcoming family vacation to Wildwood, N.J., an annual tradition.

“We can’t bear to go this year,” Guzzo said. “I don’t know if we’ll ever go again.”

The Nocturne Jordan Scott

It’s become one of the most talked-about book series in history and has turned Stephenie Meyer into a literary star.

But now, the authorship of the last Twilight book, Breaking Dawn, is being called into question.

Writer Jordan Scott has sent a cease-and-desist order to Meyer’s publisher, claiming the book’s passages were lifted from Scott’s book, The Nocturne.

Both sides have issued statements.

Scott’s attorney said in a statement:

“Jordan Scott regularly posted passages and chapters to her website. In reviewing Breaking Dawn, we found a number of instances where the text, characters and storyline contain substantial similarities to Scott’s original work.”

The Hachette Book Group released this statement:

“The claim that Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer somehow infringes on an alleged book by someone named Jordan Scott is completely without merit. Neither Stephenie Meyer nor her representatives had any knowledge of this writer or her supposed book prior to this claim. Ms. Scott’s attorney has yet to furnish us with a copy of the book to support this claim as requested. The world of The Twilight Saga and the stories within it are entirely the creation of Ms. Meyer. Her books have been a phenomenal sensation, and perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that other people may seek to ride the coattails of such success. This claim is frivolous and any lawsuit will be defended vigorously.”

Fan Club: Amitabh Bachchan

Ram Gopal Varma is one of those cool cucumbers who says most things in a matter-of-fact manner.

However, someone who visited the film-maker’s office recently says RGV couldn’t stop

going gaga over Amitabh Bachchan’s performance in Paa. RGV is not only bowled over

by the chemistry between Abhishek and Amitabh, but he is also stunned by

Bachchan’s performance as a 11-year-old suffering from Progeria.

Visitors to RGV’s office say, they went there to discuss some film, but instead RGV kept

talking about Paa. “He has taken acting to another level,” said RGV apparently.

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif is one amonst the most attractive Bollywood actress of the recent times.Born on July 16, 1984 Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship.
Katrina grew up in Hawaii, but was brought up in London, UK. She started modeling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the tender age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelery campaign. Thereafter she continued modeling in London.
Continuing to model was the reason she got her break in a Bollywood movie "Boom" offered by none other than film-maker Kaizad Gustad.

She was flooded with modeling assignments the minute she set her foot on Indian soil, especially with her innocent expressive face, hour-glass figure, and drop-dead gorgeous looks.

Professionally she started off as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar, and upon being accepted, she received offers from LG, Cola, Fevicol, Lakme, & Veet. It was the Lakme commercial that got her noticed. She retained Matrix as her Manager to accept work on her behalf and at the price she deserved.

Moving to different culture and country was not much of a culture shock for her, as she states that no matter where you come from, the bottom line is that everyone wants to be loved, respected, and cared for.

Unlike other artistes from foreign lands, Katrina did not experience any difficulties in getting a visa nor of getting it extended in India.

Although linguistically challenged, Katrina puts on a bold face and states that other Bollywood artistes like Sridevi, who did not know Hindi, did get offers from Bollywood film-makers, and she is no different. She is taking Hindi and dancing lessons to fit in with the Bollywood culture. She likes to display a picture of her learning Kathak dancing where she used to dance 7 hours a day non-stop.

Despite of her soft gorgeous looks, she is not easily intimidated, but admits that she is very emotional, almost an incurable romantic, wears comfortable non-revealing clothes when at home, hates to do her hair, and above all dislikes make-up. Admitting to being lonely in the beginning, but now has several nice friends who she can hang out with.

Although her first movie "Boom" was panned by the critics and shunned by the audiences, two other Telegu movies "Malliswari" and "Pidugu" did get her noticed. She grossed Rs.70 lakhs for Malliswari - making her top the list of the highest paid actresses during a South Indian movie debut.

Not done with South Indian movies, she has been signed in a Tamil movie "Bheema" opposite National Award Winner Vikram.

She has received decent reviews for her part in "Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya", as well as a brief appearance in "Sarrkar". Recently In 2006 katrina kaif has given stunning performnce in her movie called "Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye".

Katrina has now made Bombay her base, and doesn't mind singing and dancing around trees while she's at it, and is determined to make it big in Bollywood.

Fans celebrate Action Man's 40th

Boy's toy Action Man may be stomping into middle age, but fans are lining up to celebrate his 40th birthday.

Ade Pitman, who set up the UK 1:6 Collectors Club from his home in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, is organising a show for Action Man devotees across the UK.

Some of the rarest figures will be at the event in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, later this year as well as other memorabilia.

Mr Pitman, who is 40 himself, has collected more than 200 figures.

He set up the fan club after his girlfriend bought him an Action Man doll as a Valentine's Day gift four years ago and his childhood interest was sparked again.

Desperate to share his interest with other fans, he scoured the internet looking for Action Man groups but found none, so decided to set up his own.

It now boasts 500 members across the world including Australia, Hong Kong and America as well as the UK.

I think trainspotters get more credibility than us
Ade Pitman
The Welsh Action Figure Show will be on 15 October in the Severn Bridge Social Club, Chepstow.

"We are going to have hundreds of dolls there and uniforms, and there will be model tank displays," he said.

"People will get a chance to see some really rare Action Man figures and add to their collections."

Action Man
He's 40 - but there's no sign of grey hair or middle-aged spread yet

"I had an Action Man every year from the age of about five until I was about 16," he said.

"And then I didn't get any until my girlfriend bought me one about four or five years ago and now I am hooked again," he said.

He has since collected over 200 figures and makes Action Man houses designed in a war-zone style, complete with bullet holes.

Action Man started life as GI Joe in the United States in the 1960s and its popularity soon took off. It was introduced in the UK under the new name of Action Man in 1966.

Since then, he has taken on various guises as soldiers, divers, and even astronauts.

Its maker, Hasbro, has relicensed a variety of the original Action Man this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary.

Everyone loves a man in a uniform

"People do look at me a bit odd when I tell them and I think trainspotters get more credibility than us," laughed Mr Pitman.

"Sometimes when we meet new members in a pub, we might not know what they look like, so we will put an Action Man on the table and we do get a few odd looks from other people when they see grown men playing with an Action Man doll.

"But as a club we raise money for charity and we enjoy it."

Rachel Nichols:Talking Shop

The ultimate boys' toy is coming to the big screen in the shape of GI Joe - the US version of the doll the British know as Action Man.

Actress Rachel Nichols, a former model who was seen earlier this summer as a green-skinned alien in Star Trek, is a member of the GI Joe team out to defeat the evil Cobra organisation, headed by Sienna Miller.

The 29-year-old plays Scarlett, whose ninja skills and talent with a crossbow come in useful when dealing with deadly assassins.

We caught up with Nichols last month on a day that began with her and her co-stars being sped down the River Thames for a photo opportunity at HMS Belfast.

Michal Jackson's Mother Granted Custody

Michael Jackson's mother Katherine will become the permanent guardian of her son's three children, a Los Angeles judge has ruled.

The 79-year-old has been caring for Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II since the singer's death on 25 June.

The ruling follows an agreement with Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe, mother of the two eldest children.

The pop star nominated his mother to raise his children in a 2002 will.

In a surprise move, a lawyer for Jackson's dermatologist, Arnold Klein, tried to enter objections to the parenting of Jackson's children at the hearing.

Lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan said Dr Klein wanted to "have a voice" in issues concerning the children's "education, healthcare and welfare".

But Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff quickly dismissed the claim, saying Dr Klein did not have any legal standing.

He added that the dermatologist would have to file a formal request if he wanted to challenge the agreement.
